Cherokee Lane & Elm
Lodi, California
Gentlemen:
4
Gettier-Ryan Inc. on behalf of Chevron U.S.A. Inc., requests permission to abandon
groundwater monitoring wells C-1 through C-3 at the referenced location.
The wells will be abandoned in accordance with state and county guidelines in order to
insure that no channel will exist for the movement of water. This will prevent the
contamination of the aquifer from surface sources.
In order to insure proper sealing of these wells, the casings will be drilled out to an
approximate depth of 48 feet with the use of an 8" hollow-stem auger. The borings will
then be backfilled with cement grout. Placement of the sealing material will be
performed in such a manner that bridging will be prevented. The borings will be capped
to 6 inches from the ground surface.
For your convenience, I have attached the boring logs for wells C-1, C-2, and C-3. Also
enclosed are check number 9009 for $35.00 and a copy of our Workmen's Comp. Insurance.
If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to call.
F
Jerfy W.
