This
' r
profile is interpreted a naturally backfilled channel.
Levee fill encountered in the on--site borings is variable in
consistency, composition ranging from' semicompact to dense clayey
silty sand , slightly silty sand and sandy silt. With typical levee
construction using materials dredged from adjacent channels, levee
materials are expected to typically reflect the natural, near surface
soils profile adjacent .
Owing to the adjacent bodies of water and the typically granu-
lar nature of underlying soils , groundwater levels are expected to
J.
SRT . typically within 5+ ft .of existing groundsurface . Groundwater-
- levels. measured in the borings mostly. ranged from 0-7 ft below
estimated natural groundsurface . Locally (Boring-1) , water level
was measured at about 17 ft depth and no free water was encountered
LLin Boring-2.
