4
-12- 2P2/386/61-1
2. Groundshaking -- Significant groundshaking may occur at the
site which will require consideration in engineering evaluation
of slope stability and structure design.
3 . Liquefaction -- Soils potentially susceptible to liquefaction
are present but are expected to be limited in extent and capable of
identification and definition. It appears likely that such deposits
are at relatively shallow depth and accessible to remedial treatment
`4` where performance may be critical. Elsewhere , such soils can be
avoided or structure support achieved at greater depth.
^: 4 . Shallow groundwater -- General shallow groundwater conditions
will have a significant impact on construction and design. Local
de-watering is expected to be feasible for construction of indivi-•
dual project elements. Mitigation for structure design could incluc;
T; local grade raises and/or subdrainage. General subdrainage require
ments are not anticipated.
5: Weak/Compressible Soils -- Weak and/or compressible soils are
:expected to be limited in extent and mitigable through over-excava- ,
on and replacement as engineered fill and appropriate structure
r
esign.
~y: Expansive Soils -- Expansive soils conditions are expected
Obe' limited in extent. where identified they can be readily
ligated through appropriate design and construction. Expansive
1s conditions .are substantially mitigated in the presence of
allow groundwater .
