Laboratory classification and index testing Laboratory Investigation
would be conducted on samples obtained
from the borings along with any necessary
strength testing. Unconfined compressive
strength tests and/or Torvane shear strength
tests would be performed on samples of the
more cohesive soils, as required. Four "R"
value tests would beerformed on
samples of the subgrade soil for pavement
d
design purposes.
4. We would perform the geotechnical analysis Geotechnical Analysis
and evaluation of the resulting field and and Evaluation
laboratory data to develop the required
residential foundation design criteria. '
Recommendations for backfilling the slough
would also be developed. We would also
evaluate potential geologic hazards, at a
reconnaissance level, including liquefaction,
lateral spreading, differential seismic
compaction, fault rupture, and ground shaking.
5• We would prepare a geotechnical investigation Conclusions,
report presenting the results of our study. The Recommendations
report would summarize the field and laboratory and Report
test data and present our recommendation for 4
building foundation types, depths, and
allowable bearing pressures. Recom-
mendations for earthwork, slabs-on-grade and
pavements would also be included. To facilitate
the usefulness and readability of the report, an
executive summary would also be provided.
We make no warranty, expressed or implied, except Warranty
that our services would be performed in accordance
with geotechnical engineering principles generally
accepted at this time and location.
If the scope and cost of this proposal are agreeable Authorization and
with you, please sign one copy of this letter and Schedule
return it to us as authorization to proceed.
