Based on a review of the
project, the septic tank is offset from the corner of the proposed perimeter footing diagonally a
distance of 2 feet. The minimum distance specified in the County's "Onsite Wastewater
Disposal Standards"is 5 feet.
A review of the building plans indicates that the maximum anticipated service load along the
perimeter footing, including footing weight, will be 530 pounds per square foot. The effective
lateral soil pressure from the footing at the distance of 2 feet will be roughly 50 percent of the
full value, or approximately 265 pounds per square foot.
In conclusion, due to the septic tank being offset diagonally from the corner of the perimeter
footing and the relatively light service loads anticipated, I assert that the septic tank in its current
location with respect to the proposed improvements will not be adversely affected by the
addition and that it will not compromise the serviceability of the proposed construction either.
Please contact me at (209)483-2960,if there are any questions regarding this statement.
Sincerely,/
yu ., V
Dean G.
