An office building located on
the farming parcel is used for managing the farm operations
of Cortopassi Farms, Inc.
As we discussed, the use of the office for management
of the farm operation is a permitted accessory use in the
agricultural zone.
In response to my client' s proposal to enlarge the
office, the Planning and Building Department has raised a
preliminary concern that the expansion would serve as office
space for managing operations other than farming. This
concern was raised because my client also owns San Tomo,
Inc. , a company that operates canneries.
According to Ben E. Hicks, Jr. , representing San Tomo,
Inc. , each cannery has its own administrative offices, and
no employees of the cannery will be housed in the proposed
office addition. According to Lorene Freggiaro, an administra-
tive assistant at Cortopassi Farms, Inc. , the expansion of
the office is for the farming operations.
Therefore, the building permit application is for an
expansion of a permitted accessory use in the agricultural
zone, and I would ask that the County process and issue the
building permit.
I
COURTY
