I r TABER CONSULTANTS - Engineers & Geologists
536 Galveston Street - West Sacramento, California 95691
West Sacramento(916) 371-1690 - Santa Rosa(707)575-1568
West Sacramento Telecopier(916) 371-7265
SINCE 1954
May 27 , 1988
San Joaquin Local Health District
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95201
Subject : Technical Work Plan 1P2/387/81
Bacon Island Road Bridge Replacement
at Middle River
Bacon Island
San Joaquin County, California
Gentlemen:
Purpose of soil borings at the above site is to investigate
subsurface materials and conditions for geotechnical evaluation
and design purposes . Current work is to include two rotary drilled
test borings which will be immediately destroyed (backfilled per
County regulations ) upon completion of drilling.
Borings will be 3 to 4-inches in diameter and 60-80 ft in depth
located per plan attached. Laboratory testing on soil samples
obtained from the borings will include various strength and class-
ification tests . None of the borings are for permanent use and no
chemical analysis is planned for soil or water obtained from the
borings.
Destruction of the borings is proposed by means of combination
cement and bentonite slurry pumped into the hole (from the bottom-up)
through drill rod or pipe.
Very truly yours ,
TABER CONSULTANTS
A
G. D. Avey
GDA/FPT/twf
