August 14,2007
Project Number 55.07 L"r r.\',,{~)I(,JUIJ''.-,_,;
"FOR:Mr.Paul Bowman
Cochran Properties,PTP
2206 Goodwin Avenue
Penngrove,CA 94951
(707)765-6828
ocr -S 2007
PROJECT:A.P.N.239-110-04
25354 South Bird Road
Tracy,CA 95304
Zoning:AG-40
SUBJECT:Percolation Testing and Water Table Depth Determination for Farm
LaborlResidential Septic Systems
INTRODUCTION
Chesney Consulting has been retained by Mr.Paul Bowman to conduct percolation testing on
agricultural property owned by Cochran Properties at the above-referenced Project site. The perc
test procedures were done to determine the suitability of the soil to accept domestic wastewater
flows from four proposed mobile homes that are to house farm labor employees.
The entire subject property area consists of a 256.8 acre Parcel.Within the subject Parcel,as
noted on the San Joaquin County District Viewer Map,is a 40-acre Parcel unrelated to the
subject property. The four farm labor residential mobile homes are proposed to be installed
approximately 60 feet north of the north property line of this 40-acre Parcel, near the center of
the property line.Consequently, the percolation tests were conducted in this area.
Additionally, there are two newly drilled ag wells located in this same locale, approximately 335
feet apart from one another. Also noted is a third ag well which was drilled approximately two
weeks ago,and is located close to Bird Road.
The policy of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)is for the
installation of a septic system disposal field to be within 100 feet of percolation tests conducted
for any proposed leachfield.Acceptable percolation in the shallow soils was achieved and it can
be assumed that equivalent permeability exists within the 100-foot radius.Permeability was not
tested at the deeper depths representative ofsumps or seepage pits due to the water table at 9.5
feet below existing grade. The percolation test locations, backhoe test pit,the two referenced
wells locations, and 100-foot radius lines are depicted on the attached Site Plan Schematic found
in Appendix B.
Page -1-
'------P.O.'Box 3794 •Turlock;C.Jt 95381 •Office (209)668-1403 •:fax (209)668-2598
