The purpose of our visit was to determine how close the structure
could be located to the leach filed system. The following presents our
recommendations.
An engineer visited the site on April. 26, 2006 to observe the orientation of the teach
field and the proposed location of the shop. The leach field can introduce moisture
into the surrounding subgrade soils. The subgrade soils are clayey and subject to
volume changes with variations.in moisture content. The specified building setback
from leach fields is 10 feet according to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department. in order limit the introduction of excessive moisture near the shop, the
following recommendations should be followed.
Where the proposed foundation is within the required 10 foot setback, a moisture
barrier shall be provided between the structure and the leach field. A trench shall be
excavated a minimum of 48 inches deep and carried horizontally until the structure, is
at least 10 feet from the leach field. A minimum 15 mil visqueen shalt be draped into
the excavation. All laps shall be a minimum of 24 inches. The excavation may then.
be backfilled. This barrier should help limit the intrusion of excessive water near the
foundation.
LORI a SACRAMENTO a MO.DESTO
CORPORATE O F FI t E 902 IndUStrial Way,Lodi,California 05240 is 209.357.370.1 x PAx 249.333.8303 w www.noandcrsttn.emn
