The label and MSDS for the material should give you the specific <br /> information you need for responding to spills and leaks. As a general rule, <br /> when a hazardous material spills,you should: <br /> • Evacuate the area of the spill unless you've been trained to handle it; <br /> • Notify a supervisor or emergency response personnel; and <br /> • Stay away from the area until it has been contained or cleaned up. <br /> Even small spills or leaks should be taken seriously and reported to a <br /> supervisor, even if they seem to be too minor to bother with. <br /> 29 <br />
