Portable and stationary tanks shall be stored inside gas rooms or an enclosure with <br />exhaust ventilation. CFC, 8002.2.1.2.1 <br />E. Direct the exhaust ventilation to an exhaust system. CFC, 8003.1.3.5.1 <br />F. The treatment system shall be utilized to handle the accidental release of gas. The <br />treatment system shall be utilized to process all exhaust ventilation to be discharged <br />from the gas room. CFC, 8003.3.1.3.5 <br />G. Emergency power shall be provided in lieu of standby power for: <br />1) Exhaust ventilation, including the power supply for treatment systems <br />2) Gas detection systems <br />3) Emergency alarm systems <br />4) Temperature -control systems <br />CFC 8001.10.3 and 8003.3.1.4 <br />5. A continuous gas -detection system shall be provided to detect the presence of gas at or <br />below the permissible exposure limit. The detection system shall initiate a local alarm <br />and transmit a signal to a constantly attended control station. The alarm shall be both <br />visual and audible. CFC, 8003.3.1.6 <br />6. Gas rooms shall be internally sprinkerled. CFC, 8004.2.3.7.3 <br />7. The repair shop shall not be in the same room as the chlorine storage and transferring <br />process. There must be a 2 -hour occupancy separation between the chlorine <br />transferring room (H-2 occupancy) and shop area (B occupancy). CFC, Table 3B, <br />Appendix VI -E <br />Sampling Station <br />1. Provide approved storage of hazardous liquid waste under the sink. The open bucket <br />capturing the waste liquids of reagent chemicals dumped down the open sink does not <br />comply with the code as an approved container. The liquid waste chemicals shall have <br />secondary containment. CFC. 8004.2.2. And 8001.4.2. <br />2. Repair the "OFF GAS" system that is leaking sodium hypochlorite solution into the <br />secondary containment tank. The secondary containment tank is approximately 90% full. <br />Remove all material from the secondary containment tank. CFC, 8003.1.3.3 <br />3. Secure the shelving and provide a lip on the shelving for storage of the one -gallon <br />containers of reagent liquids. CFC, 8001.11.9 <br />4. Separate the reagent liquids that are not compatible. Separate the hypochlorites from <br />the acids. CFC, 8001.11 <br />5. Shelving shall be of substantial construction, adequately braced and anchored. Shelves <br />shall be provided with a lip or guard when used for storage of individual containers. CFC <br />8001.11.9 <br />Chlorine Fill Line <br />1. Provide secondary containment around the fill line area. Chlorine <br />along the floor to storage area. Floors shall be liquid -tight with <br />collection sump or system. CFC, 8004.1.4 <br />2.
