Businesses in California which handle hazardous <br /> materials above specified quantities are required to prepare hazardous materials management plans <br /> for their employees' use in an emergency. The law requires the business to submit a copy of that <br /> plan, along with an inventory of their hazardous materials,to the County agency tasked with <br /> administering this program. <br /> This packet contains State and local forms, along with detailed instructions, to assist you with <br /> completing this requirement. Be sure to read the introductory information in the packet carefully <br /> since it contains not only important information about complying with spill reporting requirements <br /> but also about the process for protecting your trade secrets. <br /> Participation in this program will not only prevent your business from receiving penalties,but may <br /> very likely limit damage to your facility,reduce the chance of injuries to your employees with the <br /> attendant claims, and minimize financial costs from a hazardous materials accident at your facility. <br /> Please approach this project as an important tool for protecting your business, employees, and the <br /> public around you. <br /> The enclosed submission packet contains forms that must be completed and submitted to our office <br /> no later than .TUNE 1. 1998.
