Clark
Clark Well, Inc.
-2 0:24 "East; --Charter' Way
Stockton CA 95205-7016
REPLACEMENT WELL AT QUAIL_LAKES
Based on the information, and the five conditions, provided in your
letter of October 26 , 1992 , the city has no objection to the
proposed construction of a "replacement" well. It is my
understanding that this well will be used only as a backup well to
maintain water quality and levels in Quail Lakes. You indicated
that this well will not increase the total amount of water pumped
but will merely provide a backup for the existing well. Also, the
change in pumping location from the east to the west edge of the
lake is beneficial to other groundwater users east of Pershing
Avenue.
You should be advised that, as far as we can determine from the
information provided in your letter, this well will penetrate the
aquifer used for municipal wells. Therefore, this well will be
subject to regulations under the City's Water Conservation
ordinance.
It is the policy of the city to recommend use of poor quality
groundwater, surface water or reclaimed water for this type of non-
However, in the absence of these alternative use the lake of water percolated from
sources the probable recapture
into the groundwater basin can be considered sufficient mitigation
to permit construction of the requested well. .
MORRIS L.
