Antonini Enterprises <br /> Fleet Refueling Training <br /> Purpose: <br /> The purpose of this training is to provide information on appropriate procedures for fleet refueling at the <br /> Antonini facility. <br /> Applicability: <br /> This training is applicable to Antonini employees who use the diesel fuel dispenser at the Antonini facility to <br /> refuel fleet vehicles. This training is intended to be provided to new hires within the first week of <br /> employment and to all employees on an annual basis. <br /> Training and Recurrence: <br /> The training will be taught in-house by Antonini Safety Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager.Annual <br /> training will be provided during the First Quarter of each year.Training records will be retained by the Safety <br /> Supervisor for a period of no less than tree years. <br /> 1. Spill Prevention - Refueling <br /> • Familiarize yourself with the location of emergency shut-off switch and spill cleanup kit. <br /> • Pull fleet vehicle forward in fueling area within safe operating distance(no more than 8-feet and no less <br /> than 3-feet)from the dispenser. <br /> • Tum vehicle engine off prior to refueling. <br /> • Place fuel dispenser nozzle within vehicle tank fueling port prior to activating dispenser pump. <br /> • Use provided Gasboy cardlock to activate dispenser. <br /> • Fuel fleet vehicle. <br /> • Remain with the vehicle and at the fuel tank during the refueling process.DO NOT LEAVE <br /> REFUELING AREA UNATTENDED DURING THE REFULING PROCESS. <br /> • Do not top-off fuel tank. <br /> • Upon completion of fueling,replace nozzle in upright position in dispenser. <br /> • Ensure cap on fuel tank is snuggly capped prior to departure. <br /> 2. Spill Clean Up <br /> All Antonini employees involved with refueling operations must undergo additional training on Spill Cleanup <br /> Procedures.The following are reminder items associated with refueling. <br /> • If dispenser nozzle is not shutting off property, use emergency shutoff to stop product pumping and <br /> report immediately to Maintenance Manager. <br /> • Clean up minor spills immediately. <br /> • Always use'Dry Clean up Methods"for clean up of fuel spills. <br /> o Spread absorbents("kitty lifted'or loose absorbents,sheets,pillows,pigs,or socks)on the spill. <br /> o Sweep up or pick up the absorbed materials. <br /> o Dispose of wastes properly within marked receptacles. <br /> • After clean up,be sure to sweep up the contaminated sorbent material,disposing of these materials in <br /> marked receptacles. <br /> 3. Reporting <br /> • Any minor spill or discharge(less than one gallon)of diesel fuel that requires the use of the spill kit to <br /> contain and abate must be reported to Maintenance Manager or Safety Supervisor within 24-hours of <br /> event. <br /> Page f of 2 <br />
