Failed to promptly correct visual discharges. A storage accumulation of approximately 5 gallons of <br /> diesel fluid within the secondary containment box of the fuel deposit pipe hook up was found. It is <br /> unclear how long the diesel was stored within the secondary containment box. The secondary <br /> containment purpose is to catch any spilled diesel during the hookup and release from the piping during <br /> fuel deposition into the tank. The accumulation can hide potential small discharges that are unseen. <br /> Correct by promptly correcting visible discharges that results from release of diesel during fuel <br /> deposition, including but not limited to seams, gaskets, piping, pumps, valves, rivets and bolts. Collected <br /> waste should be handled in accordance to California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Hazardous Waste <br /> regulations. Secondary containment should never store diesel but only use to catch any releases. It <br /> should remain empty at all times to serve its purpose. Submit an explanation where recovered diesel will <br /> be removed to and how the secondary containment will be remained emptied. <br /> Submit to SJC EHD within 30 days (09/13/13): <br /> 1. one copy of the completed "Return to Compliance Certification" form <br /> 2. a written corrective action statement for the above violation <br /> ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TI T END'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> EHD Inspector.
