Packaging: Compressed Cylinders Labeling: All cylinders will be labeled "Used Refrigerant", and will identify the type of refrigerant (R-22, etc.) Storage: Refrigerant containers be stored in the designated hazardous waste location on site for up to six months, but are typically recycled within 4 months. Management and Recordkeeping: Once a month, all accumulated wastes will be sealed in their containers, weighed and logged into the waste accumulation log. The log will be checked to ensure that CESQG accumulation limits have not been exceeded. Onsite utilizes Rapid Recovery to evacuate and recycle our tanks of refrigerant. Rapid Recovery comes to our facility to perform the evacuation. Fluorescent lamps Identification: fluorescent lamps are often found in the backlighting of stoves. All stoves which contain a backlight device will be checked to see if the fluorescent light is still in the stove. Removal Procedure: Employees will identify the location of the bulb and remove it by twisting it to remove it from its socket. Care will be taken to prevent breakage of the bulb. Packaging: Boxes designed for fluorescent bulb packaging and disposal. All bulbs will be carefully packaged to prevent breakage. Broken bulbs will be placed in 5 gallon buckets. Labeling: Labels will be affixed to the box at the time the first lamp is placed in it. The label will have the generator name and address, the accumulation start date and will state "Universal Waste Lamps" Storage: Fluorescent lamps will be stored in the designated hazardous waste location which includes a secondary containment pallet. Storage will be for up to one year, but fluorescent lamps are typically shipped every 3-4 months.
