Certified Appliance Recycler Application Explanation <br />1. This license will be used for the express purpose of being able to dispose of <br />refrigeration compressors. <br />A. Equipment Used <br />1. Drill motor and bit <br />2. 55 gallon drum <br />3. Plastic secondary containment <br />4. Promax RG5410 <br />5. Robinair Vac. Pump <br />6. JB hp310 gauges <br />B. Managing Materials <br />Refrigeration units shall be evacuated. Evacuated material shall be stored in a <br />certified tank. When the tank is full it will be transported to a recycle facility. <br />Compressors shall be removed then drilled at both ends and drained into a 55 gallon <br />drum. After the compressors have been properly drained they will be transported to a <br />recycling facility. <br />C. Personnel Training and PPE <br />The only personnel to remove or evacuate and drain the compressors shall be CFC <br />certified. The personal protective equipment used in drilling and draining the <br />compressors are safety glasses and gloves. <br />D. Storage <br />The MRSH in the 55 gallon drum shall be labeled with a hazardous waste sticker to <br />include; <br />1. The accumulation start date <br />2. The facility name <br />3. The facilities EPA# <br />4. Toxic or not <br />5. Liquid or solid <br />6. Flammable or not <br />7. Description of the stored material <br />8. Reactive or not <br />The stored oil shall be hauled off by an approved hazardous waste hauler no later than <br />90 days from the accumulative start date listed on the drum. <br />
