Garrett Backus [EH]
From: Calalang, Pauline [CSI] <PaulineCalalang@chevron.com>
Sent: Tuesday, May 21, 2013 12:30 PM
To: Garrett Backus [EH]
Subject: RE: Chevron - 10858 Trinity Parkway Stockton - UST inspection report
Attachments: Chevron 307709.pdf
Dear Garrett,
Good Day! Please be informed that the RTC and other supporting documents pertaining to the above subject were sent
today via Fed Ex. Per your follow up inspection on 5/1/13 you have verified and cleared the items noted in the inspection
report except for the Diesel Line Leak detector" and the "Loss of Brine issue" Our contractor identified the issue in regards
with the brine, however the Diesel LLD still in progress as of this time. Please see my note below.
• (311) The Diesel line leak detector failed to detect a leak when tested. All line leak detectors shall be capable of
detecting a 3 gallon per hour leak at 10 psi.
o Status in progress. SSS will replace the Diesel turbine assembly, we have ordered the replacement turbine,
apparently the vendor (CPE) is currently waiting for the shipment/parts to come in.
• (403)A loss of Brine was found by the Designated Operator in the following list of sumps indicating a leak in the
annular space of the secondary containment. Brine was added to each sump annular space of the following days;
87 turbine sump (9/21/12, 11/17/12), UDC 7/8 (10/26/12), 91 fill sump (11/17/12), diesel STP (11/17/12), diesel fill
(11/17/12), vent sump (11/17/12), UDC 1/2 (1/23/13).
o On 5/14/13 the tank sumps were inspected and the sump annulars were found to not be vented properly,
trapping air in the annular and causing brine fluctuations. The sump vents were vented properly, then
vacuum tested — all 3 sumps (87 STP, 91 Fill & STP) passed. The brine levels were adjusted after removing
the trapped air.
I will keep you posted as soon as we received the parts for the diesel.
Also, I would like to take the time to thank you for your time and your attentiveness to our communications is exceedingly
appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Pauline
From: Garrett Backus [EH] [mailto:gbackus@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Wednesday, April 24, 2013 4:23 PM
To: Calalang, Pauline [CSI]
Subject: Chevron - 10858 Trinity Parkway Stockton - UST inspection report
Pauline,
Here is today's inspection UST report for Chevron at 10858 Trinity Parkway, Stockton.
Thank you,
Garrett Backus
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
