(RESNA).
Groundwater monitoring and sampling was conducted on April 21, 1993 by RESNA personnel.
Water level measurements were collected from each monitoring well using a Solinist Water
Level Meter (Model 101). Groundwater monitoring of wells MW1, MW2, and MW3 indicate
a drop of the groundwater table since last monitoring in January 1993, averaging 0.66 feet.
Table 1 summarizes groundwater elevation data. A groundwater gradient map was created using
the April 21, 1993 data. Groundwater flows to the east at a gradient of 0.0065 ft/ft or
approximately 34 feet/mile (Figure 2).
Prior to sampling, at least 10 casing volumes of water were purged 'from each well..
Groundwater samples were collected from the three wells after stabilization of pH, electrical
conductivity (EC) and temperature. The samples were collected using dedicated, disposable
bailers. The samples were sent to State -certified RESNA Environmental Laboratories in
Fremont, California. Collected water samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) using EPA method 8020 and total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPHG) and diesel crPHD) using EPA method 8015.
All purged water was contained in DOT approved drums and left on site pending laboratory
analyses. Water containing nondetectable concentrations of BTEX and TPHG will be disposed
of at the site by dumping the water within planters located on-site.
2QR-1993.FUL
