Guide Number 21 <br />Fire or tlxpiosion: <br />Cannot catch fire, but container may explode in heat of fire. <br />Health Hazards: <br />Vapors may cause dizziness or suffocation. <br />Contact with liquid may cause frostbite. <br />Emergency Action: <br />Beep unnecessary people away; isolate hazard area and deny entry, <br />inert gases displace oxygen. Stop leak if you can do it without risk whale avoiding <br />suffocation. Assure sufficient oxygen is available before attempting rescue. <br />Do not touch or walk through spiiled material. <br />Avoid breathing gases. <br />Stav upwind. out of low areas and open all doors to ventilate area before entering <br />r06c'.t the squpplier for additional assistance to stop the release. <br />r.: <br />rue. <br />Move container frorn fire area if You can do it without risk. <br />Apply cooling water to the sides of the container- that are exposed to the flames until after <br />the fire is extinguished. Stay away from tanks end. <br />First Aid: <br />k4nve vicdm to Lresh sir and call emergency medical care; if not breathing, give artificial <br />respiration; if breathing is difficult, give oxygen:. <br />Irl ease of frostbite, thaw costed parts with water. <br />Keep victim quite and maintain normal body temperature. <br />Prevention Procedgrgs <br />Store tank and/or cylinders with valve protection caps installed. <br />Tank and cvlinders should be stored upright and firmly secured to prevent falling or <br />being knocker/ over: <br />Containers should be stored in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from sources of heat <br />or ignition and direct sun light. <br />if you suspect any problerns with the tank notify the supplier immediately to have the <br />system inspected. <br />
