Environmental Health D•artment, San Joaquin County •
9a
The concrete vault had no known piping and held Bunker C fuel oil. Samples were tak
in 1994 by coring through the bottom of the vault at both ends and obtaining a native
soils sample underneath the vault.
BTEX was not detected in any of the samples.
TPH Diesel was 4100 mg/kg in the North sample and 7100 mg/kg in the South sample.
TPRH was 520 mg/kg in the North sample and 1800 mg/kg in the South sample.
Please note these reported concentrations shown above are based on diesel #2 calibrati
Although the samples were found to contain compounds in the retention time range
generally associated with diesel #2, the gas chromatograms for the samples were not
consistent with the expected diesel #2 chromatographic pattern or "fingerprint'. The
concrete vault held Bunker C fuel oil. No fiuther testing underneath the vault is
proposed. Testing at MW -B (down -gradient direction from the vault) has not detected
the above constituents. Further testing between MW -B and the vault to determine the
lateral extent of the release (in this down -gradient direction) may be conducted.
EH 23 046 (Revised 3/15/02)
