Box 2009 <br />Stockton, CA 95201 <br />RE: Hazardous Wastes <br />MCEiVE <br />MAY 1 8 1990 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH <br />PERMIT/SERVICES <br />I have enclosed copies of all manifested wastes from our facility for 1989. <br />Also, I have compiled a summary sheet of the hazardous wastes we sent <br />out last year. Of the 33.6 tons, 30 tons is activated carbon used to <br />remove Trichloroethene from our well water. This carbon was transported <br />by Dart Trucking to our carbon supplier, Envirotrol in Pennsylvania. I <br />have attached copies of their permits and insurances. The balance of our <br />wastes were sent to Haz/Control in Gilroy or Alviso Oil in Alviso. Their <br />permits and insurances are also attached. <br />I have enclosed a copy of our Business Emergency Plan as you requested. <br />Also included are copies of Material Safety Data Sheets for chemicals you <br />asked about in your tour. Gamlen and CLR were from boiler area. <br />Methanol, Ethyl Ether, Methyl Ethyl Ketone and Chloroform were from <br />lab area. Zep Formula 15282, Zep Big Orange, and paint thinner were <br />from the maintenance area. <br />With regard to the regulations about small versus large generator, we agree <br />that you are correct in classifying us as a large generator. We will apply <br />for a status change and fill out the annual report that is required of large <br />generators. We are also reviewing the regulations to see if we are in <br />compliance in other areas that you mentioned. <br />We have received training from one of our chemical suppliers (Zep Manufac- <br />turing) on environmental compliance.
