• <br />GE T TL ER <br />• <br />-RYAN INC. <br />LIMITED SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION REPORT <br />for <br />City of Ripon / Madsen Sunrise Dairy <br />239 South Stockton Street <br />Ripon, California <br />Report No. 25-948223.1-3 <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />This report summarizes the results of the recent subsurface investigation performed by Gettler-Ryan . (GR) <br />Inc <br />at the subject site. The work was performed at the request of the City of Ripon n order to evaluate the degree <br />and extent ofpetroleum hydrocarbon -impacted soil and groundwater beneath the site. This scope of work was <br />Proposed in GR's report number 257948223.1-2, titled Work Plan Addendum to Limited Subsurface Assessment <br />Work Plan dated June 8, 2010, and approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br />(SJCEHD) in a letter to the City of Ripon dated June 21, 2010. The scope of work included: preparing a site- <br />specific safety plan, obtaining the required drilling permit, advancing four Geoprobe@ borings, collecting and <br />submitting soil and grab groundwater samples for chemical analysis, and preparing a report summarizing the <br />findings of the investigation. <br />2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br />2.1 General <br />The subject site is a vacant lot located on the northwest comer of the intersection of South Stockton Street and <br />2nd Street in Ripon, California (Figure 1). Ile site was Previously used as a dairyproduct distribution facility. <br />One 12,000,gallon diesel underground storagetank (UST) was previously located in the northeast portion of <br />the site. Pertinent site features are shown on Figure ( <br />2. <br />Land use in the vicinity of the site includes residential housing, industrial and small businesses. The Stanislaus <br />River is located approximately 4000 feet east of the subject site. The property to the south across 2nd Street <br />was formerly a service station (Theimann Service Station) end is currently occupied by an auto repair business. <br />Six groundwater monitoring wells are located at the former Thiemann Service Station site. <br />2.2 Previous Environmental Work <br />On November 5, 1993, three fuel USTs (two 8,000 gallon and one 6,000 gallon) were removed from the site. No <br />holes were observed in the USTs at the time of removal. Six soil samples were collected from beneath the fuel <br />USTs at depths ranging from ] 4 to 15 feet below ground surface (bgs).
