Richards III, Fire Warden
SEMCO has demonstrated to our Department a history of having the
equipment and technical ability to perform maintenance and
construction on Class I fuel tanks and fuel delivery systems. We
feel their company has the ability to inspect and retrofit former
underground petroleum storage tanks for use in storing non -potable
water would be appropriate and beneficial. The use of such tanks,
however, should be limited to applications not associated with
consumption i.e., fire prevention, temporary aboveground storage
for remediation, storm drainage systems or water storage for
landscape irrigation. The tanks should be clearly labeled for
their intended use. The expressed written consent of the tank
owner and appropriate authorization from the regulating
Environmental Health epartment allowing SEMCO to convert the tank
use should be obta.
SincerXly,
Xioward DeCavit
Fire Marshal
s4.1 sly
des, • 106-r MS.
-SOIV7 9%
