Metal fines generated from the portable grinders with floor sweeps are being thrown into the garbage without first determining particle size or hazardous properties. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop recycling metal fines, make a hazardous waste determination for the floor sweep, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed to the EHD within 30 days of receiving this report. 122, 123, & 124. Manifest number 008142719JJK was found without a signed off copy from the destination facility. Hazardous waste generators shall retain copies of all manifests signed off by the destination facility on site for three years and have them readily available for review. If the generator did not receive a copy of the manifest with the handwritten signature of the owner or operator of the facility to which the generator's waste was submitted within 60 days of the date the waste was accepted by the initial transporter, the generator shall submit a legible copy of the missing manifest, with some indication that the generator has not received confirmation of delivery.
