Therefore, I am going to assume that he never did contact Frank or the SJCEHD to request an
inspection. I have informed our Regional Manager (cc'd) of this issue (who resides in the same office in
Sacramento) to discuss this issue with the project geologist.
In know the quality of work SECOR's Sacramento Office does would meet the SJCEHD requirements for
this site in regards to grouting of the soil boring. For your information, on February 5, 2007, one soil boring
was drilled by Cascade Drilling using 1.5 inch diameter direct push drilling equipment to 25 feet bgs. Upon
completion, the boring was backfilled using bentonite grout, then capped with concrete. Soils encountered
were clay, and no groundwater was identified during drilling. Additionally, there were no reported
concentrations of any analytes. SECOR submitted a report to the SJCEHD on April 2, 2007.
I am hoping that we can resolve this without having to re-drill the location, as this would have an impact the
business operations at the site. I know that SJCEHD should have been contacted, and I know that the
project geologist is also aware of the required inspection. It is unacceptable that the project geologist did
not perform his duties as requested, by both myself and the SJCEHD.
I apologize for this mishap, and will work with SECOR's Regional Manager so the project geologist will not
forget to request an inspection, whether with SJCEHD or any other agency.
If you wish to discuss further, please call me or have Frank call me at any time.
Kelly C.
