Listed RED THREAD II pipe, manufactured by Smith Fiberglass. Secondary containment systems consist of the next larger size of pipe and special two-piece fittings. Refer to Manual 9474 or 1055 and Bulletin 1004 for installation in- structions for the U.L. Listed pipe. SECTION I PREPARATION AND ASSEMBLY A. Containment System Smith Fiberglass seenn^ lz-, . _4sainrlent sizes are: Containment For Product Pipe Size Pipe Size 3" RED THREAD II 2" RED THREAD II 4" RED THREAD II 3" RED THREAD II 6" RED THREAD II 4" RED THREAD II All factory spigots and couplings must be cut off the contain- ment piping prior to installation. Containment fittings accept only plain -end pipe (thoroughly sanded). The ends of the containment pipe must be thoroughly sanded with 40-60 grit sandpaper to remove all surface gloss when the pipe is to be joined with fittings. Any heavy resin drips or surface irregularities must be removed. Belt sanders, disc sanders, drum sanders or a coarse cut flat file may be used. The sanded length must exceed 33/4" The containment pipe must be positioned over the RED THREAD II product pipe prior to bonding of the product pipe. NOTE: When terminating with a concentric reducer, use the C dimension in the table above. It is helpful to lay out the system, cut, taper and dry fit all Product lines. Where possible, place containment fitting halves under the product fittings. (See Figure 2)
