Follow this step-by-step plan for handling spills and leaks. <br />1. Barricade the area to keep customers, visitors and unnecessary employees from wandering <br />into the spill. <br />2. Notify a manager or supervisor immediately. <br />3. Protect yourself with personal protective clothing, such as rubber gloves and safety glasses. <br />4. Determine what the hazardous. material is thaf you are handling. Do this by checking <br />the label of a similar product. <br />5. Cover the spill to prevent further evaporation. <br />6. Ventilate the area, if needed, by opening doors. <br />7. Clean up the spill with absorbent materials or pads. <br />8. Properly store the hazardous materials in a labeled container for disposal. <br />9.
