1920 Old Middlefield Way
►° Mountain View, CA 94043
650.967.2365 PHONE
650.967.2785 FAX
www,tresol utions.com
August 24, 2o18
Project Name & No: Port of Stockton - Contanda Terminal Expansion, 313424
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY— ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT
1868 Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 925o5-6232
RE: GEOTECHNICAL - SOIL BORING DRILLING AND BACKFILL WORK PLAN
i95o PORT ROAD A ST (APN: 145-020-040-000)
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
To whom it may concern:
In this letter we provide the work plan for the construction and destruction of geotechnical soil borings
for the site located at 195o Port Road A Street, Stockton, California. This work plan presents the
methods and procedures to be used during the construction and destruction of the soil borings for the
project.
The scope of work includes the construction and destruction of four cone penetration tests (CPTs) soil
borings. These CPTs are located within San Joaquin County. The Underground Service Alert (USA)
will be notified at least 72 hours in advance of drilling for clearance of underground utilities.
METHODS AND PROCEDURES
The field work will be conducted by California Push Technologies, Inc. under the direct supervision of a
TRC representative. Four soil borings will be performed using CPTs direct push method to a depth of
approximately loo feet below grade. The soils encountered in the CPTs will be continuously logged by
our representative and described in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System (ASTM
D2488). The approximate locations of the borings are shown on the attached site plan.
We anticipate shallow ground water, which will be measured and recorded in the CPTs. Destruction of
the CPTs will be performed using neat cement to grout the entire depth. Since ground water is
expected to be encountered, destruction will be performed using neat cement with tremie pipe to
grout the entire depth of the boring.
Page 1
C TRC 313424
