El Dorado St., Stockton, CA
(RWQCB Case # 391005)
Dear Mr. Barton:
In accordance with your letter dated December 1, 2008 Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. is writing to
provide you with a Workplan to destroy the seven groundwater monitoring wells located at the
subject site. The site location is shown on Figure 1. The locations of the monitoring wells are
depicted on Figure 2.
PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
Monitoring Well Destruction and Waste Profiling
Monitoring wells MWl through MW7 are each constructed of 2-inch diameter PVC casing and
screen. Total depth ranges from 32 to 38 feet below grade (Table 1). Well logs are included in
Attachment A.
Prior to destroying the wells, they will be sounded to total depth to ensure no obstructions are
present. The monitoring wells will then be destroyed by C-57 licensed Fisch Environmental
Exploration Services by removing the wellboxes, overdrilling the wells to total depth and
backfilling the boreholes to surface grade with neat cement grout emplaced with a tremie system.
Surface pavement will be restored to match the surrounding material.
Drill cuttings and debris will be drummed and a composite sample will be collected for waste
profiling purposes. The sample will be submitted to state-certified Argon Laboratory (ELAP No.
2359) for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) diesel (TPHd), and motor
oil (TPHmo) by EPA Method 8015; for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by EPA Method 8260
G:\GROUNDZE\GABBARD\workplans\WellDestWKPLAN.doc
