sn
i raffo, , date:
i- time:
Quarterly Safety Meeting Agenda location:
Q3 - July through September
I. Why safety meetings?
1. We all need to do our part to promote safety, and safety meetings are an important part of our total
safety program.
2. Safety meetings are a perfect opportunity for employees to learn about safe workplace practices and
communicate your safety ideas or concerns with your supervisor ensuring safety for you and your co-workers.
II. Review of recent site inspection. Date of inspection.
III. Review of any injury/illness/near injury reports during previous quarter.
- Suggestions for how injury/illness or near injury could have been avoided...
IV. Site walk around and hazzard refresher. Walk around and point out potential hazzards in tunnel,
equipment room,and pre-wash.
Employee Sign In
V. Safety tips of the quarter.
1. Spray bottles. All bottles are required to be labeled. Never mix chemicals.
2. Pressure washing. Never operate the pressure washer without proper eye protection and manager
supervision. Never use the washer in the tunnel while vehicles are being washed.
3. Monitor panel. Never leave the panel if a vehicle is in the tunnel. If a customer or the equipment
has a problem,we need to be able to react quickly.
4. Don't walk or stand in between vehicles while moving on the conveyor. Always walk behind
vehicles, one never knows when customer may place car in drive.
5. Reclaim grates. Never leave any reclaim or conveyor grates open while unattended. Leaving grates
off creates a dangerous situation for customers and employees.
6. Equipment room/storage door. Never leave these doors open while rooms are unattended.
VI. Health tips of the quarter.
1. Beating the Summer Heat.
- Drink plenty of water. In hot weather, drink enough water to quench your thirst. The average adult needs
eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day,and more during heat spells.
Dress for the weather. When outside, wear light-weight clothing of natural fabric and a well-ventilated hat.
Eat light. Replace heavy or hot meals with lighter, refreshing foods.
Think cool!Take a cool shower or apply a cold compress on your pulse points.
2. Reduce Stress in Your Life.
- Try to maintain a balance between work and family or personal life,a supportive network of friends and coworkers,
and a relaxed and positive outlook.
- Identify the stressors in your workday and look for ways to make positive changes that help minimize the amount
of stress associated with your job.
Misunderstandings and communication problems remain one of the most common sources of workplace stress.
Develop a conflict resolution plan for yourself to help guide you in these particular situations.
VII. Follow Up Questions.
1. Why is it important to have someone watch the cars through the end of the wash?
2. What danger could happen if one walks between vehicles while they are moving on the conveyor?
3. What could happen if a reclaim grate is left off and the pits remain open.
VIII. Feedback? Any safety suggestions or general comments?
