RESPONSE TO VIOLATION 204 ON SEPTEMBER 19,2012:
1. Disposal of all containers with hazardous waste and/or automotive fluids in the trash was
immediately suspended. It is against company policy from this moment forward,to place any
hazardous waste container into the trash without properly draining any residue from the
container.
2. The new procedure for properly disposing of these and all hazardous containers is to place them
on the grates in the basement, upside down to allow them to properly and completely drain, at
the time the container has been opened and dispensed into the vehicle. These containers will
remain upside down for approximately 12 hours which will allow for a thorough drain. Each
morning before the start of business, the drained containers are then placed into the trash.
Care is taken to verify that all hazardous waste residue has drained from each and every
automotive fluid container. (Photos attached)
RESPONSE TO VIOLATION 301 ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2012:
1. From this moment forward, any and all automotive fluids that spill beneath the bays,on the
shelves, or on the floors are to be cleaned up immediately. This means that the manager or
a designated employee will stop working and clean up the spill utilizing the policies and
procedures as outlined in the facility SPCC Hazardous Waste Spill Plan.
2. The Manager and all employees were informed that the floor trench drain in the lube shop
drains into an approved oil/water separator that is located in the car wash facility. Said
oil/water separator is serviced by an approved hazardous waste hauler on a quarterly basis,
as directed by the car wash owner.
RESPONSE TO VIOLATION 404 ON SEPTEMBER 19,2012:
1. Company policy dictates that all Hazardous Waste Containers be kept closed except when
adding or removing waste. The manager and staff have been re-instructed regarding this
policy and the container has been closed. (Photos attached).
2
