a _ 111-
a x
r
_ - CG71334
'I
i
® 1 11
5 GROUNDWATER FLOW
The top-of-casings for the new monitor wells were surveyed to 0.01 h by state-licensed surveyor
John loch of Berkeley,California,on 23 July 1990, The datum elevation for the survey is the City
'I
of Stockton benchmark at the eastern return of the northeastern corner of the iatersecdon of East
Fremont and Laurel Streets, which is 19.10 ft above mean sea level.
f
Groundwater elevations were evaluated from depth-to-water measurements taken from monitor
wells MW-1,MW-2 and NIW-4 through MW-7 on 15 June 1990 and on 31 July 1990, No water
level measurement could be taken from monitor well MW-3,
as the well was dry. Groundwater
elevation data are presented in Table 3. Groundwater elevations dropped approtrrmately 3 ft
between 15 June and 31 July 1990. The decline may be the result of the fourth year of
below average rainfall for the area. Figure 6 is the potentiometric surface of shallow groundwater
based on depth-to-water measurements collected on 31 July 19%. The estimated groundwater now
I
direction beneath the site on 31 July 1990 was towards the south to south-southwest. The gradient
F
beneath the northern half of the site on 31 July 1990 was approximately 2.5% and beneath the
southern half of the site was much gentler,at about 0.5%,
f`
t
i
i
ea I
" I
f
066RIJLO.ca ,
10 i
j
