• Apache Plastics 4Q 2001 QMR Page 3 SAMPLING, ANALYSIS, AND MONITORING PROGRAM RESULTS Groundwater samples were collected from ten groundwater monitoring wells on November 5, 2001 and submitted to Alpha Analytical, Inc in Sparks, Nevada, a California state certified analytical laboratory, for chemical analysis A sample was not collected from well MW-3 due to an obstruction in the well at approximately 16 feet bgs Well MW-12 was not sampled because the measured total depth of the well is only 101 3 feet and the well was constructed with a screen interval of approximately 100 to 115 feet bgs Strict chain-of- custody procedures were followed from the time the samples were collected to the time the samples were delivered to the laboratory The samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) using USEPA Method 8015B DHS LUFT Manual, and for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), and 1,2-dicloroethane (1,2-DCA) using USEPA Method 8260B Sampling and analysis procedures are presented in Appendix B and certified analytical reports with chain-of-custody records are included in Appendix C Histonc and fourth quarter 2001 groundwater analytical data are summarized in Table 1 and Table 2 Concentrations of TPHG, benzene, and 1,2-DCA in groundwater are also illustrated on Figure 4 The highest concentration of TPHG and BTEX were detected in the sample collected from monitoring well MW-9 Petroleum hydrocarbons were also detected to samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4 through MW-6, MW-8, and MW-10 at concentrations generally consistent with the previous sampling event 1,2-DCA was detected in samples collected from MW-2, MW-5, MW-6, and MW-10 at concentrations ranging from 3 5 µg/l (MW-6) to 240 µgd (MW-2) No MTBE or other fuel oxygenates were detected in any of the samples STATEMENT OF LIMITATIONS The services described in this report were performed consistent with generally accepted professional consulting principals and practices No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made These services were performed consistent with our agreement with our client This report is solely for the use of our client unless otherwise noted Any reliance on this report by a third party is at such party's sole risk If you have any questions regarding this report, please contact Jay Johnson at (530) 676-6000 Sincerely, 5TRATU5 ENVIRONMENTAL, INC. �,* 7-d--Scott Bithnger ay J son, R G Staff Geologist P ode anager P\Apache Plastics\Quarterly reports1200I\Apache_4Q01 doc
