• Apache Plastics <br /> 4Q 2001 QMR <br /> Page 3 <br /> SAMPLING, ANALYSIS, AND MONITORING PROGRAM RESULTS <br /> Groundwater samples were collected from ten groundwater monitoring wells on November <br /> 5, 2001 and submitted to Alpha Analytical, Inc in Sparks, Nevada, a California state <br /> certified analytical laboratory, for chemical analysis A sample was not collected from well <br /> MW-3 due to an obstruction in the well at approximately 16 feet bgs Well MW-12 was not <br /> sampled because the measured total depth of the well is only 101 3 feet and the well was <br /> constructed with a screen interval of approximately 100 to 115 feet bgs Strict chain-of- <br /> custody procedures were followed from the time the samples were collected to the time the <br /> samples were delivered to the laboratory The samples were analyzed for total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) using USEPA Method 8015B DHS LUFT Manual, and for <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), methyl tertiary butyl ether <br /> (MTBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl <br /> ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), and 1,2-dicloroethane (1,2-DCA) using <br /> USEPA Method 8260B <br /> Sampling and analysis procedures are presented in Appendix B and certified analytical <br /> reports with chain-of-custody records are included in Appendix C Histonc and fourth <br /> quarter 2001 groundwater analytical data are summarized in Table 1 and Table 2 <br /> Concentrations of TPHG, benzene, and 1,2-DCA in groundwater are also illustrated on <br /> Figure 4 The highest concentration of TPHG and BTEX were detected in the sample <br /> collected from monitoring well MW-9 Petroleum hydrocarbons were also detected to <br /> samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4 through MW-6, MW-8, and MW-10 at <br /> concentrations generally consistent with the previous sampling event 1,2-DCA was detected <br /> in samples collected from MW-2, MW-5, MW-6, and MW-10 at concentrations ranging from <br /> 3 5 µg/l (MW-6) to 240 µgd (MW-2) No MTBE or other fuel oxygenates were detected in <br /> any of the samples <br /> STATEMENT OF LIMITATIONS <br /> The services described in this report were performed consistent with generally accepted <br /> professional consulting principals and practices No other warranty, expressed or implied, is <br /> made These services were performed consistent with our agreement with our client This <br /> report is solely for the use of our client unless otherwise noted Any reliance on this report <br /> by a third party is at such party's sole risk <br /> If you have any questions regarding this report, please contact Jay Johnson at <br /> (530) 676-6000 <br /> Sincerely, <br /> 5TRATU5 ENVIRONMENTAL, INC. <br /> �,* <br /> 7-d--Scott Bithnger ay J son, R G <br /> Staff Geologist P ode anager <br /> P\Apache Plastics\Quarterly reports1200I\Apache_4Q01 doc <br />
