7. Plug all test, drain, and vent ports that are not required for the test. All
low-pressure filling lines, if any and all other lines not subject to the test
pressure shall be disconnected, plugged, or isolated by valves or other
suitable means.
8. If the section of pipe being tested is isolated from other sections by in-line
valves, ensure the portion not being tested is open to the atmosphere.
Start of Test— System Pressurization
9. Ensure that the test area is properly barricaded with danger taped, or
otherwise controlled to prevent unauthorized personnel entry.
10. Apply a preliminary pressure test of 50 psig. Hold for 10 minutes.
11. Visually inspect pipe, fittings, and other appurtenances for evidence of
leakage.
12. Record data in the Pressure Test Record Form.
13. Apply the test pressure of 105 psig.
14. Hold the maximum test pressure for 10 minutes. The NCPA Management
or Designee must observe this step.
15. Visually inspect pipe, fittings, and other appurtenances for evidence of
leakage. If leaks are detected during this step, or at any time during the
test, or if there is evidence of structural distortion, relieve the pressure and
consult NCPA Management or Designee for instruction.
16. After the required 10 minutes, reduce the pressure to 50 psig for the
Diesel Oil Pipe and hold here to conduct examination for leakage.
Examination for leakage detected by soap bubble or equivalent method
shall be used on all joints and connections. The piping system, exclusive
of possible localized instances at pump or valve packing, shall show no
evidence of leaking.
17. Obtain confirmation of a successful leakage examination by NCPA
Management or Designee.
18. Complete the following form, Pressure Test Record Form.
19. Remove the pressure.
20. Return relief devices to normal configuration, if any. —
MAY 232016
6
_Wr X.' N
