This work plan presents the methods and
procedures to be used during the construction and destruction of the soil borings for the project.
The scope of work includes the construction and destruction of three mud-rotary/hollow-stem auger
soil borings and four cone penetration tests (CPTs) soil borings. This soil boring is located within San
Joaquin County. The Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified at least 72 hours in advance of
drilling for clearance of underground utilities.
METHODS AND PROCEDURES
The field work will be conducted under the direct supervision of a TRC representative. Three soil
borings will be performed using conventional, truck -mounted with a combination of mud -rotary and
hollow -stem drilling equipmentto investigate, sample, and log subsurface soils. The soils
encountered in the boring will be continuously logged in the field by our representative and described
in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System (ASTM D2488). The boring depths will be to
approximately 50 feet below the ground surface. Additionally, four soil borings will be performed
using CPTs direct push method to a depth of approximately loo feet below grade. The approximate
locations of the borings are shown on the attached site plan.
We anticipate shallow ground water, which will be measured and recorded in the boring logs and
CPTs. Destruction of the soil borings will be performed using neat cement to grout the entire boring
depth. Since ground water is expected to be encountered, destruction will be performed using neat
cement with tremie pipe to grout the entire depth of the boring.
L TRC Page i
z5891z
