WILSON, <br />I AM THE PROPERTY OWNER OF 650 EAST MINER AVENUE, STOCKTON, <br />CALIFORNIA 95202. THIS PROPERTY WAS PURCHASED BY ME APPROXIMATELY <br />TWO (2) YEARS AGO. I OPERATED A USED CAR LOT AND HAVE SINCE CLOSED <br />THAT BUSINESS AND HAVE SUBLEASED THE PROPERTY TO ANOTHER TENANT. <br />I WAS ASKED BY THE CITY OF STOCKTON TO PARTICIPATE IN A SITE <br />REVIEW RELATIVE, I BELIEVE, TO THE UTILIZATION OF VARIOUS PROPERTIES <br />IN THE REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE CITY <br />HIRED A PRIVATE CONTRACTOR, CONDOR TECHNOLOGIES TO PERFORM SITE <br />INSPECTION WORK. AS I WAS UNABLE TO ANSWER MANY OF THE QUESTIONS, <br />I HIRED A PRIVATE CONTRACTOR TO HELP ME. DURING AN INSPECTION OF <br />MY PROPERTY, THE CONTRACTOR I HIRED FOUND AN UNDERGROUND FUEL <br />STORAGE TANK. AS ALMOST MY ENTIRE LIFE'S BACKGROUND HAS BEEN IN <br />THE FURNITURE BUSINESS, I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FUEL TANKS. THE <br />CONTRACTOR I HIRED HAS INFORMED ME THAT IT IS NECESSARY THAT I <br />INFORM ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION IMMEDIATELY. HE HAS ALSO <br />INFORMED ME THAT THE TANK DISCOVERED APPEARS TO BE A VERY OLD <br />TANK AND HAS THE ODOR OF GASOLINE. HE ESTIMATES THE TANK TO MOST <br />LIKELY BE APPROXIMATELY 1,000 GALLONS. <br />PLEASE KNOW THAT I HAVE IMMEDIATELY SOUGHT TO OBTAIN BIDS FROM <br />VARIOUS CONTRACTORS FOR THE REMOVAL OF THIS TANK WHICH I ONLY <br />BECAME KNOWLEDGEABLE OF WITHIN THE LAST FEW DAYS. IT IS MY INTENT <br />TO REMOVE THIS TANK PROPERLY UNDER PERMIT FROM YOUR DEPARTMENT. <br />IF ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED FROM YOUR DEPARTMENT, <br />PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL ME.
