S E C O R <br />Fourth Quarter 2002, Quarterly Progress Report <br />€ January 14, 2003 <br />Page 4 <br />3.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS <br />• Groundwater near the site appears to flow radially toward extraction well EX -3; <br />• Concentrations of hydrocarbons offsite are below both primary and secondary maximum <br />contaminant levels (MCLS); <br />• The SVE system was not operated during the 4002; <br />• Concentrations of hydrocarbons dissolved in groundwater continue to decline, and; <br />• GWE operational data indicates a decline in dissolved hydrocarbon mass removal from the <br />subsurface. <br />4.0 RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Based on the data presented above and as approved by the RWQCB, in their letter dated, September 16, <br />2002 (Appendix F), SECOR recommends the following: <br />• No additional assessment activities; <br />0 Restarting the SVE system and reevaluating its performance during the 1Q03; <br />• The continued operation of the GWE system, and; <br />• The continuation of quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling. <br />
