is <br />• <br />Chevron Products Company Page I <br />October 12 2001 <br />Former Chevron Service Station 49 5775 301 West KettlLman Lane, Lodi, California <br />INTRODUCTION <br />SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Chevron Products Company <br />(Chevron), presents 3`d quarter 2001 operating data for the groundwater extraction (GWE) <br />and soil vapor extraction (SVE) systems at the site referenced above (Figures 1 and 2) This <br />report covers the period of June 27, 2001 through September 26, 2001 GWE and SVE <br />systems were initiated on July 3, 2000 A bnef description and performance evaluation of the <br />remedial system during the 3rd Quarter 2001 are presented below <br />GROUNDWATER EXTRACTION SYSTEM <br />The groundwater extraction (GWE) system consists of groundwater wells EX -1, EX -2 and <br />EX -3 (Figure 2) These wells are equipped with submersible pumps connected through <br />mechanical piping to a series of granular activated carbon (GAC) vessels prior to an <br />mdustnal sewer discharge point Pumping through the wells from areas affected by <br />petroleum hydrocarbons prevents migration of these hydrocarbons off-site Discharge to the <br />industrial sewer is permitted by the City of Lodi Public Works Department <br />To assess effectiveness of the GWE system, process samples were collected weekly during <br />this reporting period Sample locations include an influent port (RNFL), prior to the first <br />GAC vessel, between the first and second GAC vessels (MID -1), between the second and <br />third GAC vessels (MID -2), and prior to discharge (EFFL) to the industnal sewer <br />Each sample was analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, <br />toluene, ethyl -benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX compounds), and fuel oxygenates Fuel <br />oxygenates include methyl tertiary butyl ether (MtBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di - <br />isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (EtBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), <br />ethanol, methanol, ethylene dibromide (EDB), and 1,2-dicholoethane (1,2 -DCA) Maximum <br />concentrations of detected constituents are presented below <br />11Chevron19577510&M13 rdQuarter 2001130&M ROI review doc <br />
