Chevron Products Company l I
Former Chevron Station 9-5775, 301 W Kettleman Lane, Lodi, CA July 24,2000
Well MW -8A, located between the municipal well and the presumed source area has
been reported nondetect
• Groundwater flow within the deeper water -bearing zone {B -zone} has been reported to
south-southwest No detectable concentrations of hydrocarbons or fuel oxygenates have
been reported in any of the B -zone wells MW -5B, 8B, -IOB, -1 IB, or -1213, with the
exception of MtBE in wells MW -5B and MW -I OB at concentrations of 160 ugll and 5 2
ug/l, respectively, and ETBE in well MW -5B at a concentration of 14 ugll
Additionally, ethanol was reported in wells MW -1 OB and MW -12B at concentrations of
1,400 and 2,000 ug/l, respectively Since Chevron has no record of using ethanol onsite
and since these detections were reported only in offsite wells, these detections are
thought to be anomalous or may be indicative of an offsite source Well MW -8B,
located between the municipal well and the presumed source area has been reported
nondetect
e As described above, operation of SVE and GWE systems were initiated in July of 2000.
System operational and mass removal data, as well as groundwater monitoring and
analytical data will be collected to evaluate the effectiveness of these systems in limiting
further migration of contaminants offsite and reducing hydrocarbon mass Based on the
results of this ongoing evaluation, the need for additional SVE and GWE wells will be
determined
We recommend the collection of monthly operation and maintenance data and quarterly
monitoring of the groundwater monitoring wells on- and offsite Additionally, the
municipal well should continue to be sampled on a monthly basis Results of the data
evaluation and recommendations for final site cleanup will be presented in a Final
Remediation Plan to be submitted by August 28, 2000
077 41991 04319-5775PAR doc
