• <br />6ETTLER-RYAN INC. <br />July 14, 2000 <br />Mr Bob Cochran <br />Chevron Products Company <br />P O Box 6004 <br />San Ramon, CA 94583 <br />Subject Site Update for Former Chevron Station #9-5775,301 West Kettleman Lane, Lodi, CA <br />(Cleanup and Abatement Order #5-00-704) <br />Mr Cochran <br />This site summary report has been prepared Gettler-Ryan Inc (GR) at the request of Chevron Product" <br />Company (Chevron) as required in the subject Cleanup and Abatement Order (CAO) During the second <br />quarter 2000, soil excavated during property development was properly disposed of offsite by Chevron, and <br />GR conducted a soil vapor extraction feasibility test, pumped groundwater from well EX -1 on a weekly <br />basis, and installed a groundwater and soil vapor extraction and treatment system The remedial system <br />became operational on July 3, 2000 Data pertaining to remedial system startup will be presented ill the <br />. Third Quarter 2000 Site Update report <br />The subject site is a former Chevron service station situated on the northwest corner of S Pleasant Avenue <br />and W Kettleman Lane (Figure 1) Former station facilities consisted of station building two dispenser <br />islands, three 10,000 -gallon fuel underground storage tanks (USTs) and one 550 -gallon waste oil UST <br />During station demolition in 1998, impacted soil was identified beneath the former fuel USTs <br />Prior to the second quarter 2000, a total of five onsite and three offsite groundwater monitoring wells, one <br />onsite groundwater extraction well, and four on-site soil vapor extraction wells were installed in the study <br />area Locations of pertinent site features are shown on Figure 2 The site is currently being redeveloped into <br />a automotive service business including carwash and oil change facilities Installation of the remedial <br />systems and associated piping was conducted concurrently with site redevelopment <br />Soil Disposal <br />To facilitate development of subject site, Chevron requested that GR profile soil material that was to be <br />generated during excavation of the proposed auto service facilities On April 12, 2000, GR advanced ten <br />GeoProbe borings to collect ten composite soil samples Analytical results from analysts of these samples <br />were presented in GR report #346408 10-1, Soil Sampling Report for Former Chevron Service Station <br />#9-5775 (dated April 25, 2000) On May 8 and 9, 2000, 1,266 80 tons (approximately 900 cubic yards) of <br />soil with low detectable concentrations of ethyl benzene and xylenes was excavated by Howell Construction <br />and hauled by Manley and Sons Trucking to the Republic landfill in Livermore, CA Mailley's Disposal <br />Confirmation Form is attached <br />346408 07 <br />6747 Sierra Court, Suite J - Dublin, California 94568 - ( 9 2 5 ) 551-7555 <br />
