•
Chevron Products Company 2
Former Chevron 9 5775 301 West Kettleman Lane Lodi CA December 15 2000
butyl ether (MtBE), and ethyl tertiary butyl ether (EtBE) were reported in the influent
sample at 0 7 ug/l, 3,300 ug/l, and 147 ug/l, respectively, during the most recent
sampling event
Between October 25 and November 29, 2000, the GWE system discharged a total of
46,167 gallons of treated groundwater over a period of 35 days (Table 2) As of
November 29, 2000, the GWE system has treated a total of 73,667 gallons Calculated
discharge rates during the November monitoring period ranged from 0 40 to 1 19
gallons per minute
During the November monitonng period the system extracted approximately 0 43
pounds of TPHg, 0 002 pounds of benzene, and 6 90 pounds of MtBE To date, the
system has extracted approximately 2 56 pounds of TPHg, 0 108 pounds of benzene,
and 3197 pounds of MtBE
System Modifications
Weekly operation and maintenance was not performed on November 15, and 21, 2000,
due to the performance of an aquifer test and system modification associated with the
installation of groundwater extraction well EX -3 System modifications and aquifer test
activities are summarized as follows
• Between November 10 and 15, 2000, the system was shutdown to monitor
changes in groundwater elevations in site monitoring wells
• On November 16, 2000, a 2 -inch pump was installed in extraction well EX -3
Groundwater was pumped and treated from EX -3 for approximately 2 -hours
• On November 17, 2000, a step test was performed in EX -3 Groundwater was
pumped and treated for approximately 5 -hours
• On November 18, and 20, 2000, the 2 -inch pump in EX -3 was upgraded to a 3 -
inch and a new transfer pump was installed in the remediation compound The
GWE system was then tested for approximately 3 -hours
• Between November 22 and 26, 2000 groundwater was continuously pumped
from EX -3 to monitor drawdown effects in site monitoring wells
• On November 27, 2000, the system was shut down to monitor groundwater
elevation recovery following the pump test
• On November 28, 2000, GWE resumed from EX -1, MW-14/EX-2, and EX -3
077 41991 043/Revision of Discharge Report doe
