Chevron Products Company 2 <br />} ormer Chevron 9-5775, 301 West Kettleman Lane Lodi, CA April 12 2001 <br />. were reported as 3,500 ug/l, 160 ug/l, 87 ug/l, and 36 ug/l, respectively (Table 1) <br />MtBE, TBA, ethanol, and methanol were reported in mid -1 at maximum concentrations <br />of 2,500 ug/l, 33 ug/l, 8 8 ug/l, and 57 ug/l, respectively MtBE, TBA, ethanol, and <br />methanol were reported in mid -2 at maximum concentrations of 2 0 ug/l, 53 ug/l, 13 <br />ug/l, and 79 ug/l, respectively <br />MtBE was reported in effluent samples on January 31 and February 8, 2001, at <br />concentrations of 0 88 ug/1 and 0 78 ug/l, respectively Methanol was reported on <br />February 7, 2001, at a concentration of 52 ug/1 All additional petroleum hydrocarbons <br />and fuel oxygenates were not detected in effluent samples Please note that methanol <br />and ethanol have not histoncally been used by Chevron <br />On January 26, 2001, carbon vessels A and B were changed -out by U S Filter/ Westates <br />(Westates) Due to detections of MtBE in the effluent samples collected on January 31 <br />and February 8, carbon vessels A, B, C were again changed -out by Westates on <br />February 14-16 <br />Between December 27, 2000, and March 28, 2001, the GWE system discharged a total <br />of 1,195,844 gallons of treated groundwater (Table 2) As of March 28, 2001, the GWE <br />system has treated a total of 1,530,569 gallons Calculated discharge rates dunng the <br />first quarter ranged from 8 15 to 8 70 gallons per minute <br />aDuring this monitoring period the system extracted approximately 2 35 pounds of <br />TPHg, 0 022 pounds of benzene, and 25 62 pounds of MtBE (Table 2) To date, the <br />system has extracted an estimated 5 59 pounds of TPHg, 0 136 pounds of benzene, and <br />66 11 pounds of MtBE Plots of GWE system mass removal trends and influent <br />groundwater TPHg, benzene, and MtBE concentrations versus time are shown on <br />Figures 3 and 4, respectively Remedial system operation and maintenance field data <br />sheets, certified analytical reports, and chain -of -custody documentation are included in <br />Attachment A <br />SUMMARY OF SVE SYSTEM OPERATION <br />The SVE system is comprised of four vertical SVE wells (VE -1 through VE -4), a 5 <br />horsepower (hp) positive -displacement blower, and a Falco 100 catalytic oxidizer The <br />SVE system is permitted by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District <br />(SJVAPCD) for operation through May 5, 2010 (Permit No N-4343-1-0) <br />SVE system runtimes were estimated to be 100 percent between December 27, 2000, <br />and March 28, 2001 (Table 3) SVE system operational and analytical data are <br />presented in Table 3 The maximum influent concentrations of TPHg, benzene, and <br />MtBE were reported as 160 parts per million by volume (ppmv), 0 28 ppmv, and 2 8 <br />ppmv, respectively <br />Based upon the above data, the SVE system removed approximately 448 9 pounds of <br />TPHg, 0 9 pounds of benzene, and 7 1 pounds MtBE from soil beneath the site between <br />077 41991 043/Remedial System Evaluation Report doe <br />
