Second Quarter 2000 Progress Report <br />Former Chevron 49-5775, (CAO #5-00-704) 301 West Kettleman Lane Lodi, CA <br />• <br />QUARTERLY RESULTS SUMMARY: <br />Current Phase of Project <br />Frequency of Groundwater Sampling <br />Frequency of Groundwater Monitoring <br />Is Free Product (FP) Present On -Site <br />Current Remediation Techniques <br />Approximate Depth to Shallow Groundwater <br />Groundwater Gradient <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Remediation <br />Quarterly <br />Quarterly <br />No <br />GWE/ SVE <br />53 30' to 54 37' <br />Southwest @ 0 003 ft/ft <br />July 14, 2000 <br />On April 12, 2000, Gettler-Ryan Inc (GR) advanced ten (10) GeoProbe borings to collect composite samples to be <br />used to profile soil generated during excavation at the site On May 8 and 9, 2000, approximately 900 cubic yards <br />(yds') of excavated soil were removed to a landfill in Livermore, CA <br />Between April 6 and June 5, 2000, GR extracted groundwater from well EX -1 for approximately 8 -hours per day on <br />a weekly basis Approximately 2,635 gallons of water were removed during this period Analytical results are <br />presented in Attachment B <br />This groundwater monitoring and sampling event was performed by GR on May 25, 2000 TPHg was reported in <br />four (4) of the ten (10) Chevron wells sampled this quarter at concentrations ranging from 162 (MW -6) to 1,390 <br />ug/l (MW -3) Benzene was reported in six (6) wells sampled this quarter at concentrations ranging from 4 61 <br />(MW -l) to 19,000 ugll (EX -1) MtBE was reported in seven (7) wells at concentrations ranging from 8 28 (MW -3) <br />to 350,000 ug/l (EX -1) <br />The concentration of TPHg in MW -5 increased from below analytical detection limits to 1,140 ug/l this quarter <br />Concentrations of MtBE in MW -5 increased from 474 ugll from the previously reported level of 83 ugll The <br />concentrations of MtBE in EX -1, MW -6, MW -8, and MW -9 decreased this quarter to 350,000 ug/l, 378 ug/l, below <br />detection limits, and 53 4 ug/l respectively Groundwater elevations across the site increased an average of <br />approximately 0 4 feet this quarter Groundwater flow direction was to the southwest Historical groundwater flow <br />has varied from southeasterly to southwesterly <br />The installation of the groundwater and soil vapor extraction and treatment system began on June 5, 2000 The <br />system became operational on July 3, 2000 <br />Groundwater monitoring wells MW -513, MW -813, MW -10B, MW -12A, MW -12B, MW -13, and MW -14 were <br />installed during June and July 2000 Data collected during this assessment will be reported as part of the Problem <br />Assessment Report (PAR) <br />CJ <br />
