• <br />• <br />6ETTLER-RYAN INC. <br />MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION REPORT <br />at <br />Chevron Station 49-5775 <br />301 West Kettleman Lane <br />Lodi, California <br />Report No 346405 06-1 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />This report presents the results of a subsurface investigation performed by Gettler-Ryan Inc (GR) at the <br />above referenced site The work was performed at the request of Chevron Products Company (Chevron) <br />to further evaluate the extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil on-site and in the soil and <br />groundwater south and west of the subject site, between the site and municipal well #12 located to the <br />southwest (Figure 3) The scope of work performed included obtaining the required well installation <br />permits from San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) and encroachment permits <br />from the City of Lodi and Caltrans, updating the site safety plan, installing five groundwater monitoring <br />wells, one groundwater extraction well, four vapor extraction wells, and two soil borings, collecting soil <br />samples, developing and collecting groundwater samples from the wells, analyzing selected soil and <br />groundwater samples, surveying well head elevations, and preparing a report documenting the work <br />performed This work was initiated by Chevron, and was not requested by SJCEHD or the Regional <br />Water Quality Control Board Work performed was originally proposed in GR's Work Plan For <br />Monitoring Well Installation (report #346408 06, dated November 11, 1999) and GR's Addendum to GR <br />Report No 346408 06 (report #346408 07, dated February 9, 2000), and approved by SJCEHD <br />(Appendix B) <br />SITE DESCRIPTION <br />The subject site is located between South Lee Avenue and South Pleasant Avenue adjacent to Kettleman <br />Lane in Lodi, California (Figure 1) The site was most recently developed as a service station with four <br />service bays, three dispenser islands, one sales kiosk, three 10,000 -gallon gasoline underground storage <br />tanks (USTs), one 1,000 -gallon waste oil UST, one 550 -gallon previously abandoned waste oil UST, and <br />one in -ground hydraulic hoist All aboveground and subsurface facilities have been removed The site is <br />currently an unpaved vacant lot Locations of the previous facilities are shown on the Site Plan <br />(Figure 2) <br />PREVIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL WORK <br />The five former USTs, former hydraulic hoist, former dispenser islands and associated product piping <br />were removed on August 24, 1998 Soil samples were collected from beneath the USTs and product <br />piping Very Iow to non-detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in all the <br />soil samples from beneath the waste oil USTs, the product lines, the hydraulic hoist, and five of the six <br />samples from the gasoline UST pit The sample from 14 5 feet below ground surface (bgs) beneath the <br />eastern end of the middle gasoline UST contained 14,000 parts per million (ppm) of Total Petroleum <br />_, <br />6747 Sierra Court, Suite J - Dublin, California 94568 - (925) 551 -7555 <br />
