Ensure oil is clear, not extremely dirty or foamy Pump/Motor Coupler - Visually inspect the Coupler for signs of damage. Look for 'shavings' that would indicate impending failure. Ensure safeguard is in place to prevent entanglement in rotating shaft. Off/On Switches - Ensure each switch is in the correct position, locked if required and clearly marked as to what " v j = it operates. Look for drips, leaks and sign of damage. Tags /Decals - Ensure all pumps are marked with their P&ID #, a tag describing their function or some means of identification.
