In my response letter dated February 17, 2011, I
required additional time in order to comply with two of the violations. The following information supports the
steps taken by the college district's Facilities Planning and Management Office for correction and remediation
of the outstanding violations at San Joaquin Delta College.
Item 949 Violation: Personnel training records incomplete.
Answer: On February 17, 20111 reported the following:
The Facilities Planning and Management Office chose to provide training to the instructors
utilizing a self -paced on-line training program for Hazardous Waste Handling. The training of
instructors is a challenge for San Joaquin Delta College, since the instructors teach at multiple
times and days. The Facilities Planning and Management Office did not want to disrupt the
education of the students, yet needed to provide training. The instructors were notified on via
email and a memorandum on February 3, 2011 of the violations received on January 11, 2011
and the need to complete the online training program. To date twenty-five out of thirty- three
instructors and staff have completed the training program. The remaining instructors will have
the training completed by March 30, 2011. Attached are the training program and the list of
instructors and staff.
Update: To date all instructors and staff have completed the Hazardous Waste Handling
Training program Attached is the list of instructors and staff that have completed the training.
