The purpose of this boring is to meet requirements from a lending institution
for a loan on this property. The condition of the soil and the water is to be reported.
WORK PROPOSAL
We propose to drill one boring along the east side of the property. The boring location is shown in
Figure 2. The depth of the boring will be five feet into the water table. The water table was
located on January 29, 1998 at approximately 38 feet below the surface (bgs) on a property about
1/2 block to the east of this site. The gradient of the water is to the northeast in this area as shown
on the County Flood Control Map of 1996.
The drilling rig will be a hollow stem auger system with 8.5 inch augers. The driller will be Frontier
Drilling of Turlock, CA, their C57 number is 673504. All of the equipment entering the subsurface
will be decontaminated.
Soil samples from the boring will be taken at 5 feet and every 5 feet until the bottom of the boring
is reached. Each sample will be checked with an Organic Vapor Analyzer(OVA). Selected
samples, which tests positive to the OVA ,will be sent to the laboratory for analysis. The boring
will be logged geologically by a Registered Geologist. A water sample will be taken at the bottom
of the well with a hydropunch sampler. This water sample will also be sent to the laboratory for
analysis.
The boring will be abandonded with hydrated cement from top to bottom. The cement will be
placed with a trime pipe since the depth of the boring is more than 30 feet deep. This is in
accordance with California Well Standards Bulletin 74-90 and 74-81.
LABORATORY TESTING
The following tests will be performed on the soil and water samples by Sherwood Labs of Hilmar,
Ca.
SOIL TESTS DETECTION LIMITS
EPA 8020 3 u /K
EPA 3540/8015 M 50 mg/Kg
EPA 5030/8015 M 1 mg/Kg
WATER TESTS
EPA 602 0.3 u /L
EPA 3540/8015 M 50 u /L
EPA 5030/8015 M 50 u /L
