If the tank product level is less than 60% or more than 90% of tank
capacity, do not test without specific instructions from your Region
Quality Control.
II. Safety check for tank bottom pressure differential.
1. Enter tank diameter (A)
,(0
in.
2. Enter Tank Top to Surface Distance (B) 31/ in.
3. Calculate tank bottom to surface (A+B) = (C) q in.
(,alar C-1- lA'1 i5 A-,-
4.
-4. Enter water table distance from surface (D) 16, in.
5. Subtract water table (D) from tank bottom (C)
to obtain (E) in.
*6. Calculate water head pressure at tank bottom
(E) x 0.036 psi = (F) ✓ psi.
7. To obtain tank bottom pressure differential (G), ADD water head
pressure (F) and the probe set point (2.0 for steel or 1.0 for fiberglass tanks).
(F) + 2.0 = (G) or (F) + 1.0 = (G)
Total differential equals (G) IV14 psi.
If total differential (G) exceeds 4.00 psi DO NOT TEST
without special instructions from your Region Quality
Control. *Give them the line 6 bottom pressure.
ti
TAK-24 (10/93)
Surface
B D
1
E
.Top of water table
Pre-test form 9/22/93
