Conduct ultrasonic testing from the exterior to determine the shell thickness as described in the STI <br /> Standard. <br /> 3.0 INSPECTION FINDINGS FOR TANK: AST-7 <br /> 3.1 GENERAL SITE AND TANK DESCRIPTION <br /> The Facility supports commercial distribution of oil products with multiple ASTs used in the operation. <br /> AST-7 is located southeast of the maintenance shop and truck wash bay and is a double-wall steel tank with <br /> an integral secondary spill containment interstice. The tank inspection summary is <br /> provided following the STI Formal External Inspection(FEI)criteria, and additional inspection items. The <br /> FEI items for AST-7 are described as follows: <br /> 3.2 FORMAL EXTERNAL INSPECTION <br /> 1. General <br /> 1.1. A Formal External Inspection(FEI)was performed by an STI Certified Inspector. <br /> 1.2. AST-7 is a double-wall steel, vertical, cylindrical design measuring 114 inches (9.5 feet) <br /> in diameter and 216 inches(18 feet)high with a nominal capacity of 10,000 gallons.AST- <br /> 7 is equipped with a 24-inch manway located on the topside of the tank. The bottom of the <br /> tank is secured to a concrete slab using bolts. Currently, AST-7 is used to store motor oil <br /> pumped to dispensers located on the northeast side of the adjacent warehouse. A fill pipe <br /> and connection located on the side of the tank is used to fill AST-7. <br /> 1.3. Previous periodic inspection reports were not provided. <br /> 1.4. The age of the tank could not be determined or was non-legible when referencing a <br /> UL/manufacturer nameplate observed on the tank. <br /> 1.5. The fabrication of the AST-7 was inspected using UL 142 and STI SP001 guidelines as a <br /> baseline. <br /> 1.6. The tank foundation was inspected for indications of settlement, cracking, exposed rebar, <br /> and general disrepair.No evidence of the above conditions was observed. <br /> 1.7. The tank supports were inspected for of cracking, spalling, and general disrepair. No <br /> evidence of the above conditions was observed.
